Jeff’s practice today has a substantial focus on estate litigation, where he helps families and individuals navigate disputes with a combination of legal acumen and practical problem-solving. He also represents clients in commercial litigation and property disputes. Broad experience across these multiple areas of law allows him to approach cases with a comprehensive perspective, identifying solutions that others might overlook.

Jeff began his legal career at a major regional firm in Halifax, where he trained with some of the province’s most revered counsel and developed a strong foundation in civil litigation. He then went on to serve as counsel at the Department of Justice for both the Provincial and Federal governments, handling high-stakes civil litigation and gaining invaluable experience in government regulatory matters, administrative law, and constitutional issues. His litigation practice has taken him across multiple jurisdictions, advocating at all levels of court in Nova Scotia, the New Brunswick Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court, as well as before administrative tribunals and a federal-provincial public inquiries.

Jeff serves as Vice-Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section in Nova Scotia. He also serves on the Dalhousie Health Sciences Research Ethics Board and is involved in his local community as the President of the Brooklyn Cemetery Committee. Outside of the office, Jeff enjoys spending time outdoors, whether he is paddling Nova Scotia’s lakes and rivers, golfing with friends, or exploring the region’s natural beauty on his road bike. Jeff lives in Brooklyn with his wife, their two children and two rescue dogs.
